For once (i guess), this horror movie took the unbeaten path by presenting itself in a different way ... far from a no-brainer Ju-On or The Ring bandwagon, the movie juggles around the complexities, clashes and tangents between the law of the universe and laws of land.
What I like was how the mystiques of supernatural elements were discussed, analysed and argued in the court of law and how faith of the unseen realm remain relevant ot us, even if it does not make sense in the first place.
Thumbs down though for the way Christianity has been portrayed throughout the movie that God would actually need to cling onto a wooden cross placed on Emily's neck to cast Lucifer away. He did not need that, in fact God spoke and that was the end for Lucifer ...Its amazing how throughout history, the wooden cross has been placed over and above the power of God when in actual fact, the wooden cross was nothing more than a tool used as capital punishment for crooks in era of Jesus. I believe the wooden cross has been sensationalise
It was and it is still faith in the living God that demons are cast away .. through knowing and believing the Word, not accessorising ourself with tools and symbols. I know that ... try spending 6 months in a haunted office alone.
