How do I start this ... have just read a friend's blog recalling a horrendous accident that happenned to his parents recently. Thank god his parents are fine , have no pics to post here but trust me; it's not something that any good soul could walk out without seeing their maker first.
Reading it with my heart beat pounding, cant help but memory brought me back 20 years ago, during a late evening balik kampung trip to my dad's hometown. We were just miles away from our destination, lazily enjoying my winks in my uncle's when I was suddenly thrust forward so violently that I swore I was literally flying. Before I knew it, the milisecond experience was over and I found myself lying upside down in the middle of the driver and passenger seat.
You see, we were in the middle of a rubber plantation estate, 5 of us in a Honda Accord when out of a sudden an Ar-Nay on a bicycle, 99.9% alcohol intoxicated decided to give a speeding Honda a pat on the bonnet. Just a spilt second whisk and all hell break loose when the impact caused him to be flung meters away, his bicycle torpedoing towards us. Of coz, all the necessary sound effect where there to fill the air. We had surround sound too if i was not wrong. As fast as the crash boom bang was over, the locals were swamming the scene with their sickles and pails, shouting obscene indian twangs and hauling their hands in unison ... makes u wonder where bollywood gets their inspiration eh.
It was trully scary, rather than being help out of the wreck, we had to endure high pitch nags and insult which could make a reformasi session looks pale. So by the time we got out of the car, the old ar-nay was already lying unconcious by the longkang complete with his makeshift weeping relatives and kins. Yeap, some of them were mourning so hard and loud that makes me wonder whether it was for the spilt todi or for the man!!!
Neway, story short ... lucky an army truck passed by to help calm the storm, settle the dust and brought us safely back to Taiping... was past night fall when we got back to my grandma's house. Oh yea.. thats with my forehead bleeding because of a windscreen chip. Shaken, thats how I am till today recalling that evening.
So to all, drive safe, be nice to the peeps and love the peep you love. Live life!
