Genting ... things to know if ur heading for a great trip

Just came back from my yet-another-weekend escapade to Genting

Mind note : Yes ... I cant help but quitely whispered to my ownself of the countless same-spot pics that i'm bound to take again ....

It turned out to be a pretty interesting trip (seriously) with my fellow gym friends though I was pretty exhausted even before the trip started (and yes, I drove). Think I just had the most rigorious body jam (my fav Track 34!!!...stomp stomp) earlier on saturday, and my limbs are still protesting and begging for mercy now.

It didnt help much too that i proceeded to gate-crash a few show-houses in Nusaputra and Kemuning after the bjam class; one of the few bad habits of first time house owners.

Few things to know if ur heading for a great trip ...

1. The lead-car takes u for tour of Sunway ...

the price of immunity ... now i know whose car to put a price on ..

2. Ur hungry and the only good-food restaurant in Gohtong-Jaya has folded

all ur fault !!! ... now we have to eat farn-shee

3. Suddenly hokkien ...
hmm...ask Chooi Yin

4. U get all ur canto mixed up ...
see harm = see fart
see thau = see yau

5. U cant decide between Starbucks and Coffee Bean

lucky got 15% discount ... where do u think the Darlie-smiles came from?

6. Of all the machines in the arcade ... 8 adults have to share a game called Swamp Stomp ... which aint working!

hey the steps looks familiar !!! ... overdose body jammer in action

=p

Marking my territory

and it shall be filled with jay parkers (I wonder wat's this little lorong's for, for its leads to a dead end ...

CSI Malaysia

No, the syndicated series is aint coming to Malaysia yet, or not that I am aware of ... its even ticklish just to imagine Jalaluddin Hassan playing Horatio , ya know, just like what he did in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire .. come on dude, its only a game show, not a circumcision surgery!!! chill ...

U see, i had the first chance of my weeny lifetime to savour first hand crime investigation today ... and OMG, its far .... and i mean LIGHT YEARS far from what I expected!! hey what do u expect from Macgyver/A Team generation man (and yes. .. i'm a sucker for anything CSI !!!)

Of course it pays to be grounded, the sky are blue (not yellow), they drive Wira not Hummer and no, nothing is solved in an hour...

Anyway the story goes like this. There this case which I have been assigned to but never really had the opportunity to speak to officers (a.k.a police) due to the raya holidays and people goin on annual leave. So the day came, made an appointment and there was i heading towards the police office ... ahem ... read that right, its an office, not stesen ah. Not bad i thought, up in one of the hills in KL (apparently its Bukit Perdana) with a peek-a-boo view of the KL skyline, now I want to work here to man!

But my alice in wonderful field trip excitement was soon cut short after the first sight of the office ... try imagine getting into a lift after someone had just farted or getting in a lavatory cubicle after someone has just parted his with colon and his yesterday's mistress home-cooked meal! ... not very convincing eh?

Not too convinving too was that the room visibly lacks goorish photos you would normally expect in an IO office :-crime scene, severed pinkies, punctured pussies, twisted limbs and exposed tracheas ... hmm ....alas, after scanning the room for a while, it soon became obvious that this is a Commercial Crime Division ... aaahhh, where the crooks rock the world with pens and papers. Guns and roses next door la ... Sorry alvin, go back to ur CSI.

Then it was the investigating officer's turn...my my, finally I could put my Enid Blyton's skills to work after all these years ... or so I thought. Just like little children, I sat across the IO trying my level best to look deeply in thought and ready to jump into action .... and in a typical TVB-police story manner, he whipped out the file (no, they are no longer in brown paper files now), licked his thumb to flip the pages of emails which we have sent him moons ago. And after what seemed like an eternity for him to read ( i swore i heard him reading it in his heart!!!) ... he looked up and gave me a dazed look ..

IO : errmm.... Mr Alvin, can you expleng it to me again?
AC : (deep in my lower membranes ... explain wat? tot u've just read the whole thing!!!)
IO : you see, i lon ang-derstand how your compaly work ...
AC : ah ... u dont understand ... nevermind, read that emails and attachement again
IO : wah, vely diffikelt la, so many pee-pol... if I ask my boys (wow, now his talking) to bling them in, it will dis-lap ur opelaysheng la ...
AC : hmm... true true ... so what u reckon it should be ...
IO : i orso dunno ... let me check with my boss
AC : i swear i'm gonna ask for my income tax rebates this year ...aint paying anymore buckaroos to you weasels!!!

and so thats how the cookie crumbles for the day ... I left the office feeling disheartened and disillusioned ... I mean, why cant CSI be a bit more realistic? Look what you guys have led me to believe and look what i got!!!

Astro ... I want my money back!!!

Signs that u ARE going to join the WRONG company

This friend of my can be such bane and an arse sometimes but I could help but to crown her the Queen of Hearts la.... Introducing the petrolhead of Melium ....May Hwang!!!

u should check her out la, classic mulut man ... and one thing from her, you learn it first and fast .. dont Fuck with this auntie tell u!! shez neither your regular neighbourhood Lady of Leisure nor Friends from Paradise

Just as I was approaching my twilights in Melium, its kinda nice to know how much thought she has put in to prove me right ... in making the WRONG decision to step into this dungeon 5 months ago ...

anyway, herez a gist of her email to me earlier today ...

Signs you are entering a wrong company & Signals you ARE in the WRONG company

1. ALWAYS make friends with Michelin-look-a-like girls. No matter how fat, ugly and idiotic they are, ALWAYS, ALWAYS make friends. (Humping is optional provided you could get a hippo as replacement)

2. Always check out the HR manager. If she’s porky, looks like you-know-who, decline the job no matter how attractive it might be. (Because she expects you to hump her!!!)

3. Do not make friends with attractive girls because they will make life hell for ogre like you. (Just kidding)

how right she is ... darn, there goes a christmas present for her ...

at least now the saving grace is to put a price on a few heads ...

And here they are in full bloom
To the Soong sisters of Melium ... a toast to you!!! Thanks for everything...

Killer Monday strikes back

I was njoying myself unwinding and chilling out at home yesterday night; after a good workout at the gym and a swim (yes, i went swimming after more than 10 months) but what seemed like a perfect end for the day turned to be the biggest nightmare for any KL-the-concrete-jungles-inhabitants - BLACKOUT!!!

12:04am : Lights out !!! Wat der &%$#* !!! i've just loaded my body jam dvd !!!! Quick check at the fuse box and a peep outside revealed that this is a neighborhood thingie...and just as soon as things got pitch dark and eeriely free of worldly entertainment ... house alarms started to bark ... follow by a symphony of dogs who couldnty miss the opportunity to test their karaoke skills.

12:06am : ok ok nevermind ... calm down ... check the laptop .... mak hantu betul ... battery flat pulak ...

12:07 am .. what am I gonna do? the room's gonna get stuffy pretty soon (thats the problem when you stay in the storeroom beside the kitchen, therez hardly any ventilation at all) sigh .. lets call someone to irritate...

12:08am : Called Tenaga

3:00am : Power resumed ...

haha.. i cant help but noticed the time in which power was restored as my room lights were left switched-on earlier ... and knowing the number of lamps in my room, I could almost light up KLCC and still can be seen from Mars ... so when power came back, i wake awaken immediately ....

heheh ok ok ... what I wanna say is I was kinda impressed with Tenaga yesterday, not sure what took them so long to fix the problem but they did, and what a pleasant telephone service the Tenaga chap rendered. I mean I was expecting ...

ME : Hello, ini Tenaga Nasional ke?
TN : Yea, apa nak?
Me : Nak buat report, USJ !8 takde api la
TN : Mana?
Me : USJ 18 ... UEP Subang Jaya takde lektrik
TN : nombor telipon?
Me : Erm ... 8024 ****
TN : nama
Me : Chin
TN : okay .. nanti kita hantar teknician ...
Me : lama tak? nak tidur ni la bang
TN : Tengok la ...diorang tengah minum ni
Me : oh ... cepat sikit ya
TN : ok ok ok .... tooot.... tooot.... tooot...

but none of it!! Bravo Tenaga man ... but now hurry up will ya!!! Ppl wanna sleep la!

and to the neighbours ... shut ur dogs' mouth will ya!!!

Killer Mondays

Woke up this morning to (I reckon) one of the category 3 killer-mondays that I swore I almost wanna whack myself so hard that I could passed out and sleep again ...

Driving along Kesas, I cant help but wonder now whether I should start classifyin my mondays according to the Categories ... just like what they did to hurricanes and tornedos (tsunamis??)

Of course, this is what I believe a far more effective indicator than the 911-traffic light style warning system ... y u may ask? Check out what Malaysians do when they approach a junction with the lights turning AMBER ...

Signs and indicators of Killer Mondays

Category 1
1. Mild headache

Category 2
1. Mild headache
2. Sister's car blocking the way

Cateogry 3
1. Mega headache
2. Clock shows 3:00am
3. Office attire still in washer

Category 4
1. Migraine
2. Neighbour cooking sambal belacan
3. Neighbour's maid has just run-away (thats why she has to cook the sambal belacan!!!)
4. Neighbour's son calls himself Jessie (probably that's why the maid ran away!!!)

Category 5
1. Good Morning Malaysia, this is HITZ FM on a bright TUESDAY morning ....

Harry Potter and TGOF

i think i'm just gonna save myself the trouble in reviewing Harry Potter, noticed in some blogs therez already more comments than the bricks of the Great Wall, so i'm just gonna head str8 to my conclusion .... i slept a good deal through out the show ... GSC seats has never been so comfortable!!!

just one of the usual tag-along with CB gang session that i went to watch Harry Potter. Thank God the night started well with us leeching to Klang in a heavydownpour; along federal highway to the restaurant where hsemate held her wedding in September.

You see, its one of those complimentary set meals that the operator threw in for every purchase of 10 wedding dinner tables ... not bad eh? considering the food was superb, i just could not resist the opportunity to savour more!! Not bad too was the revelation that almost every other patron at the restaurant was a suspect; a free-rider who came to redeem their complimentary set. I mean, who one earth would order the 4-season starter on a friday night !!! even the free King Cola and Lemonade sodas were there!

gr8 manna from the heavens ... ermm i'm talking bout the Black Label ...

may not be the best cola in town ... heck it gets the job done with the Black Label!!!

Emily Rose

Normally, I do not pay much effort to even remember a movie once I passed the pearly gates of GSC but somehow The Exorcism of Emily Rose caught my attention. Tats maybe because in an ever so typical horror-scary movie, one would expect nothing more than a circus of loud wailing noise and humans patched up in elephant-skin thick make-ups; but ah-ha, not TEOER.

For once (i guess), this horror movie took the unbeaten path by presenting itself in a different way ... far from a no-brainer Ju-On or The Ring bandwagon, the movie juggles around the complexities, clashes and tangents between the law of the universe and laws of land.

What I like was how the mystiques of supernatural elements were discussed, analysed and argued in the court of law and how faith of the unseen realm remain relevant ot us, even if it does not make sense in the first place.

Thumbs down though for the way Christianity has been portrayed throughout the movie that God would actually need to cling onto a wooden cross placed on Emily's neck to cast Lucifer away. He did not need that, in fact God spoke and that was the end for Lucifer ...Its amazing how throughout history, the wooden cross has been placed over and above the power of God when in actual fact, the wooden cross was nothing more than a tool used as capital punishment for crooks in era of Jesus. I believe the wooden cross has been sensationalise

It was and it is still faith in the living God that demons are cast away .. through knowing and believing the Word, not accessorising ourself with tools and symbols. I know that ... try spending 6 months in a haunted office alone.

What a tuesday ...

Ok ok.. think now I'm getting bit sick of waiting for my last working day, but before I sink deeper into oblivion and self-pity, I've just decided to

1. Self-teach myself how to built up this blog (yes, its still in a pathetic state) ... trying as much as possible NOT to ask from the experts.
2. Learn Aramic .. yes ... Aramic ( a smart colleague of mine dug her own grave by pointing to me that it should be Arabic..duh)
3. Re-File and Re- organise whatever's left on my desk
4. .............
5 ..............

sigh ...

What a monday ...

Came in late today , 10:05am to be exact after taking my own sweet time to get into office...ermm not that I wanted to but had a major tummy tumble session and of course, took a detour to get my compulsory char siew pau in the morning.

Anyway, got into my room only to notice someone has searched through my PC and few minutes later, the bitch and her witch happily strolled in to collect all files, folders from my cabinets.

Clean ... Harpic .. u could use this in your TVC

Well I wish they tot they have carted away everything intellectual about this company, coz in actual fact, therez hardly anything there ... just some professionally (done by yours truly) filed and segregrated papers in nice ABBA Arch Files .. hehe...

alrite , now what to do... my room is half empty .. thanks to the morons hauling away all the files which admittedly gave the impression I'm actually doin 50% more work ... sigh.

Its 330 now, with hardly any news from FK and Justice Pao wannabe whether my leave application has been approved or not .. just a daily reminder how how fickle minded they are.

Ee-Lyn's Wedding ...

ahh.... one more wedding! The Chin's are really spreading forth their networks and tents.. hehe, so biblical!

Any wedding would have its highlights and I cant help but was amazed by the revelation of a long-speculated mystery of the Chin family. hehehe... no, therez no juicy gossip bout the groom's hairstyle but was about how uncanny a few members of my family resemble each other...

It all started with my little niece, Lorraine being shown my late-grandma's potrait ... more like a lil crash course on family history. Being lil kids, she spoke her heart and boy how much wisdom were there to be exploited!! Being told that that's the potrait of her great-grandma, Lorraine insisted that it wasnt my grandma (ala... as if she knows) but my aunt's (my father's eldest sister)!!! We burst into laughter hearing that and that got the whole (ed: bored) clan talking and matching among each other ...

and here are the results (drum roll please)

Posing from left : My uncle (dad's eldest bro, very camera shy), my 3rd GRAND uncle, my dad and me

ha ... this is the classic example : My aunt and my sister

What ? two pairs of look-alikes? Nows thats something!!

Okay okay .. now u might wondering wherez the bride and the groom .. hmm.. honestly, I dont have a single pic of the them!!

I left the wedding feeling good and since a very long time, feeling good bout my family .. the Chin. Our forefathers might have been nomads in ancient China, but the greatness of this clan have seen them weathering storms and chalking up milestones. It might just be a simple resemblence of look in all generations, but for me, its a simple reminder of where I have come from and where I could go ... the distance.

Congrat's and thanks for the wonderful time Ee-Lyn.

D-Day (yes... again)

Now resignations dont get much easier do they? Of coz, this time around its for a very much different reason, FK is not around today .. shit. Should have just threw the letter on monday then.

Anyway, Porky Rita went round to announce office will be closing at 4pm today and oh yea .. those A&P gals were actually caught gambling in their room upstairs ... hehe... i should have pressed the alarm button, but then again, guess she went up there first before making her fat arse down here.

So without further adue, i sneaked my way to Jenny and then to Porky R's office ... quite surprised she was, ala, as if I care.

now see what happens on Monday .. hopefully my pay cheque gets through though.

Selamat Hari Raya !!!

Mun Hao & June Lee's Wedding

One more wedding ... this goes into record for me for attending the most wedding in a year! and one more to go after this ...phew ...

Hehehe, anyway, this is one THE wedding which JW and I have been looking forward too . Y might wanna ask y .. hmm ...I'll tell you WHY!

Blame it on ignorance or maybe it was just pure "fifth-level" secret keeping super power by JL, I actually didnt know she was getting married to HMH a.k.a Snoopy. So the shocker came after being told during my chit chat session with Emily, funny at the same time too cause I actually did not bother reading the invitation card (haha... all rely on Jennifer). Of course after that I kena kow kow from JW ...".. u ah, super MCC one in everything"

So as the big day approaches, JL and JW came up with this brilliant idea to include me as one of their "Chee-Mui" ..hmm.. excuse me? ... anyway, after much persuasion, i gave in. Yea, did that mainly because Cindy Look could provide me with her killer Top 10 Chee Mui tricks and treats...

Wedding day

Woke up at 615, had to hurry to Shah Alam to meet up with JW, car pool with her ma. (psst.. by the way, thats how i got to hitch a ride in her brand new WMY 38 Peugeot 407!!) Raining so heavily too and by the time we got to JL's hse, it was just about time. Talk bout punctuality man!

730am : Snoopy and his entourage arrives ...payback time!!! herez how the story goes

Aik aik & Hsemate's Wedding

The second CB gang wedding ... Aik Aik and Housemate

This time around, I mean compared to Moo Moo's wedding, we traversed afar to the historical town of Melaka, hsemate's hometown for a quick/short escapade (a typical CB Gang trademark) before assuming our Chee-Muis role during hsemate's big day.

Saturday 17th Sept
Check-in to Century Melaka, unpacked our stuffs and headed str8 for food and to get the wedding present (haha... typical last minute CB Gang again)

Had dinner in one of the Satay Celup restaurants nearby before we called it a day .... didnt quite enjoyed the meal as my nose was already singing away to the tune of an opera house ... just plain irritating.

Hmm... u actually believe we called it a day after dinner? Heck no... back to Giant to get the Chee-Mui's TOP 10 killer tricks.. more of the tricks below.

Sunday 18th Sept
Hsemate's House in Melaka
Woke pretty early (thats just me actually) because we wanted to have western breakfast before hsemate's brother comes to guide us to her house. Haha.. its been a while since i last had bacon/sunny side upeggs/ baked beans and toasted bread for breakfast. Cool. Quite nice ... should give it a try next time you go there! Call for more info.

The journey to hsemate's house took quite awhile considering its more on the outskirts of downtown Melaka but whoz counting when ur not the driver (thanks Pan!!). After a few zig zags through some small villages, we soon found our way to hsemate nest and aahhh... deja vu. Just the setting i'm so used to growing up in teluk intan, wooden houses with open lands and gateless community. A far cry from what we are used to in KL .. heck I'm even paying to stay in a GATED community .. hmm ... macam tak betul je.

Anyway back to our Raja Sehari .. Tuanku Aik Aik and Puanku (?) Hsemate.
Aik Aik arrived with his entourage of around 3 cars (I think) in a gleaming cream Lexus RX470; bringing with him his 'heng-dai's ... quite intimidating intially though, but of coz, nothing's too big for Ah Sou to handle la.. u'd to be there to see her in action, along with her pelakon tambahan CYC, Karen and Winnie. Where were the guys u say? err ... Fai-kor became the unofficial paparazzi, me biasa la with my camera, leaving Ben and Pandi to decide with line they wanna cross...

Wah thomas, khang khor le .. the chee-mui very keng la

open la ... i promise i wont drink guiness stout anymore

even the flowers bloomed brighter for the day ... all thanks 2 the chicken poohs
Smiles from the left : Winnie, Fai-kor, Ah sou, Hsemate, Aik Aik, Karen, CYC, Pandi, Ben & me

Dinner @ Mun Siang Lo Restaurant, Klang
My very first wedding experience in a Klang restaurant!! Hehehe.. so after all these years, I braved myself for the ultimate experience. So here goes ...

As usual, we were late, yes .. all because Fai-ko was the last one to shower and we left USJ only around 715pm.

Now, the survival kit to a Klang restaurant wedding dinner is ....
1. Stay clear of the speaker, or anything that resembles a speaker; especially those which is bigger than your head.
2. Identify the nearest escape route, no i'm not talking bout exit, i'm talking bout the little boys and girls room. Once your seated, pray that you dont have to go the moment the food cometh!!!
3. Get a pedestal ready so that u could stock up enuf ice, garlic, cili padi and tee-sue paper.. promise ya, u'll never regret.
4. Yes, you wont look akward leaving with plastic bags and tiffin carriers.Given that the menu comes with suckling piglet and lotus leaf fried rice, its customary to pack leftovers way before EVERYONE finish their share of the poor piggy. Rice dont have to say, all will either be too drunk or bloated to even bother ...

Anyway, by the look of the gang below, guess all of us graduated/ survived the ordeal ... forget bout the karaoke blasting away traditional Hokkien songs, we had a great meal (yes, it was that good and we were terribly hungry too) and a great time.

Congrats Aik Aik & Hsemate and thanks for the great weekend!!!

The CB Gang in full force ....

all smiles after a full tummy ..

Pity the pandi ... i meant the one on the plate..

Mum's 68th birthday

Mum's birthday has always been special to me... dunno why but I'd always relate it my own age, partly because she brought me to this realm at 40. So taking off the great 40 from her age will give you my age ... thar-dah!!! cheap thrill huh?

mum's birthday nowadays has also been more significant after the Sept 11 attack of the WTC in New York, I could still vividly remember coming back from her birthday dinner to catch the event as it unfold via CNN. It took us quite a while to fathom what was going on then and when the enlightenment came, I could actually feel goose bumps all over my body!!! I mean, here am I celebrating life ... and lifes are being taken away right before the eyes of the world.

thats why, mum's birthday has reminded me again again, to celebrate life and the cherish the very essence of human relationship; to love and being loved.

My new baby's status

Bali
Bandar Nusaputra

That's mine .. to the right of the lamp post.
Pic taken my sis' house ... hehe, yes directly in front of mine.

1st floor : Family hall

Ground floor .. stairway

Belakang ...

Ground floor : Hall

From the entrance

Was just having breakfast with Kim Soon ... talk talk talk and realised its been awhile since I pay visit to my new baby.. hehe.. yala, my new house in Bandar Nusaputra.

Quite surprised at the rate of completion, impressive!!

Hahaha ... given any opportunity with Kim Soon, things will surely materialise and sure enuf, even for an out-of-bound construction site, we managed to con our way in; passing off as contractors, for the following reasons
1. Kim Soon's car ... never wash one.
2. Kim Soon's "par-boey" accent - enuf to scare the daylight out of any cave.
3. Kim Soon's charm - no no ... he didnt wink at the Bangla guard ... think he voodoo-ed him

So presenting for the very first time: presenting for the first time!!! Pictures of the house ...

Shit happens

I guess the age old adage is so so true ... the more u're afraid of something, the more likely it will happen. Sigh ...

Went to Sunway College to gather some information from the Hospitality School this afternoon .. bla bla bla .. some boring chicken shit stuffs la. So there was I quietly minding my own business along the Kesas highway when out of nowehere, a lil asteroid decided to homerun my car; causing the windscreen to spider-web crack...shit !!!

Guess that point in time, the crack filtered through my trouser pockets coz I know its gonna cost a bomb for me to replace it ... a quick call to my insurance company confirmed it.. I've only got it insured for $800 ... my V-Kool tinting alone would probably be as much as that adi!?! Why la ... sigh again ...

Sudah jatuh ditimpa tangga ...
